| What is Clermont Yellow Ribbon about? |
| Clermont Yellow ribbon is a website dedicated to all the armed forces
personnel that are currently serving in both foreign and domestic lands.
It's a place that you can leave messages as well as send in their photograph.
You may also add their name to the list. |
| |
| What kind of support do you provide? |
| Other than moral support, I also help raise money for the support the
troops groups as well as other projects of support. I help keep up awareness
for supporting our troops by trying to be an information portal to all the
support efforts. |
| |
| Is this your full time job? |
| It was not planned that way but some how it became a full time job. I
do a lot of volunteer work which includes a summer camp for special needs
kids called KAMP Dovetail. There is a link in the links
section for more information. I also became a volunteer EMT with Fayetteville
Fire & EMS. I am brand new at it so I am still learning. My real job
is to do web design and photography for the Clermont County Convention and
Visitors Bureau. They are my biggest sponsor. |
| |
| Why did you start this site? |
| I originally intended to add a special page to the Bureau's website for
Matt Maupin but at the last minute thought it would be a neat idea to create
a site that people can have a sense of ownership in. It would be an outlet
for them to express their feelings through messages to the troops and a
place they can send pictures of their loved ones that are serving. I really
wanted there to be a real sense of community support. So, I created this
site on April 16th 2004. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started
this but I wouldn't exchange the experience for the world. |
| |
| When I leave a message, why does it take so
long to see it posted? |
| I set it up so that I would have to read all of the messages before they
actually got posted. I want the site to be a positive experience for everyone.
I try and avoid posting anything that would be inappropriate and against
the sites intentions. I do appreciate that people can get up on their soap
box and express their opinions. That's what makes thesis country so great
but this is not the place for that. I work by myself so sometimes it takes
me a while to get to the messages. I have been known to make a few errors
too. I post the messages but forget to upload the pages. I'm gonna blame
it on sleep deprivation. |
| |
| When I try to add a persons name to the list,
why does it take so long? |
| Once again, I review the names before they get posted. Believe it or not
people still like to send in humorous names. I do the list once a week and
that is usually on Sunday nights but it really depends on when I have time
to get to it. There will be times that names get put up instantly. |
| |
| When I send in a picture, why does it take
so long to see it posted? |
| I have to crop and sometimes fix the photos that come in and that takes
time. I try to do it at least once a week depending on what I have going
on. |
